Questions About Acura Awd Snow

David asks…

Does anyone know how the 2009 Acural TL Front-Wheel Drive handle in the snow?

I have a 2007 Camry 4-cylinder and its awful in the snow. I live in the Northeast and snow gets crazy up here. The SH-AWD Acura is a bit out of my price range.

Anyone that has one that can commnent, please??

admin answers:

AWD handle so much better in the snow than regular FWD. Get one and see and feel the difference.

George asks…

What is the maintenance like on a subaru wrx.?

Thinking about getting a used subaru wrx does anyone know what the maintenance is like. Is it alot to maintain or is low to maintain, because i drive a acura now and I'll tell you that honda is very reliable. Just want to know if subaru is the same. Because im looking for a nice sports car thats good on gas and good in the snow and the wrx has that 4cyl awd. Also which year has the least defects and problems. Thanks

admin answers:

Well not to scare you but buying a used wrx is a little dangerous. You dont know if the owner before you has beat on it putting tons of huge upgrades then downgrading it back to stock to sell it before it blows up. If you do find one that an older couple has had that would be the best. Taking care of them is no more expensive than most cars, just make sure to do the 30k,60k,and 90k since these are critical to the drivetrain of our vehicle and all the fluids need to be changed along with the spark plugs.

Chris asks…

Want to buy a car today but dont know which one to choose?

Im looking for a reliable car with low cost maintenance/ repair. I live in Wisconsin so I see snow about 4 months out of the year. im 22 and have only driven AWD except for maybe a couple of times in a light weight FWD car so not sure if I want a 2 wheel drive car. what are the disadvantages of having a FWD in the winter as oppose to AWD. Im looking at an 06 Acura TL FWD 20 mpg city, 06 Infiniti G35x AWD 17 mpg city, 07 Lincoln Mkz AWD 18 mpg city, 08 Chevy Malibu LT 22 mpg city. Im also gonna look and see if I can afford an 06 or newer Audi A4 and a Lexus IS 250. What do you think of Chrysler products such as the 300C AWD. Thanks

admin answers:

The 300C is a great car. It has gotten great reviews from numerous publications car and driver, road and track , etc Also with the hemi it has MDS technology which once you stay at a constant speed it will shut the engine down to a 4 cylinder. I have a durango full time AWD with shift on the fly 4X4 and i get 17-20mpg's so if i had to guess you should see mid 20's. Have you considered the dodge charger? They offer that in AWD. My 2nd choice would be the lincoln. Great cars on the list.

Sharon asks…

First car? Please help me choose!?

I turn 17 next year, and I am very excited for a car.
I found several cars I like and are pretty cheap that I can afford with a bit of help from my parents with the insurance.

1999 Mercedes CLK320
2004 BMW X3 2.5
2004 Acura TL
2004-06 Volvo S60
02-04 Audi A4 1.8

Personally I like the X3 better, heard it has AWD, and I need that for my ski trips as well as carrying all the gear I have that goes with it. How much do you expect the car to be around 2011? Also, please pick one of these cars, and if you want to suggest cars, please suggest cars that perform well in rain, and snow. In addition, tell me what you think of each car if you can.

Thanks a bunch!
is insurance high for a small SUV like the X3?
and how much do you think the repair will be on these cars?

admin answers:

For your age group, insurance is going to be super high on this fine of cars, but if you are a good student, you should have a good discount

i find it totally cool that your paying for some of the car yourself too, most kids when i was growing up who got BMWs and such just had their parents hand it to them, and they treated them like crap.

Id reccoemend the X3 or the Audi A4. The X3 is for those ski trips, and the A4 is for a fun, compact ride. It all comes down to what you really want. If you want a small, fun sedan thats decent on gas go for the A4

if you want a nice little SUV go for the BMW

Also, the volvo would be a smart choice.
