It's called vehicle racism. Saturn and Cadillac get shafted.
While it is a fair argument to say Saturn and Cadillac are both subsidiaries of GM... I also feel they deserve their own category... I mean, look at that makes you have on Yahoo Answers:

Scion gets it's own category, yet it's a Toyota Subsidiary.
Acura likewise has its own category, yet it's a Honda Subsidiary
Inifiniti gets it's own category, yet it's a Nissan Subsidiary.
Audi gets it's own category, yet it is a VW!
Lexus, likewise is a Toyota, and still gets it's own category.

I say it's automobile discrimination! I say, I say, Saturn! Should get it's own category! Same with Cadillac.

I don't believe everyone will agree with me, but Cadillac is to GM what Lexus is to Toyota... So what's with the unfairness?

I don't think Scion and Saturn are of the same variety or category... But if GM did have a Scion, I think Saturn would be your best analogous species.

I have taken an Acura on a 5 yr payment plan. Honda financed me. What is the best way to sell the car.?

The total cost fr the car is around $14000.00 in which I have already paid around $2000.00. How do sell this car to any indivisual since 12000.00 will be a lot fr any indivisual to pay in cash. Do I ask Honda to transfer my plan to his name so that he can take over the rest of the payment. Do I take it to a dealer to sell. Do I ask an indivisual sales man frm any car dealer to help me out. What would be the best option.PLS HELP.

You will never get a loan assigned to anyone. Whoever buys it needs to get their own loan or come up with the cash. You're real problem is getting anyone to buy it at that price. You might be upside down meaning you owe more than the car is worth. Also, payments are not applied linearly. If you have paid $2000 towards a $14000 car, don't be surprised if you still owe over $13000 on it. If it's a lease, which is very unlikely, you can have someone assume that. The words Salesman and help in the same sentence is an oxymoron. I take it you can't afford the car. You either have to sell it, and pay the difference if any out of your own pocket, or trade it in on another car, and roll the balance into a new loan. Unless you know what you are doing, you will end up paying a fortune for the new car. I suggest you sell the car and pay off the difference out of your pocket. Even then, you have to find a buyer who is willing to buy the car from you with a lien attached. This isn't the end of the world. You must have decent credit if Honda financed the car for you, so call them or go online to get a payoff for the car, then see what they're selling for, and decide from there. Good luck. You are not alone in this situation.

My friend has an Acura Integra hes had it for over 5 years now and its flawless. He doesn't put that much money or work into it either. Hondas are pretty reliable too, but in my personal opinion Acura is the way to go.

2010 Honda Accord EXL v. 2010 Acura TSX?

January 25th my 2007 Honda Accord EXL lease ends. I went to dealer today. There is a Promotion until January 7th. Now 2010 Accord EXL is $310 a month after bargaining plus 1500 down payment, taxes, fees... After January 7th lease will be $30 more per month. If Honda has this promotion so will Acura. I went to see Acura TSX basic. Lease is $335 monthly, downpayment is $2500. 2500/36 is around $30. I already paid for the 2007 January lease as my last month, payment not returnable. Should i get the Acura now which is same price as the Honda now? Or do you think i should get the Honda after the promotion because i already paid my lease fee for the January of the 2007 model?

These are all good cars so you should base your choice on price, features, options, color, etc. If you are in a RUSH and you are EXCITED you have a good chance of making mistakes and not getting a good deal. Calm down and use your head or you'll make a purchase your aren't happy with, and you won't be able to return the car.

You should get online and do research on the cars, find out what other people are saying about them, and what other people are paying. Edmunds.com is a good site to start with. When you go to buy, don't tell a salesperson you are rushed and excited. You'll NOT get a good deal. You will also not get a better deal by paying CASH. Dealers actually make more money when customers finance.

Please don't tell me to go to a dealer! The one near where I live is actually charging me! I am not the original owner and I don't have the service manual, and I don't see any sticker on the glove compartment or anywhere in the interior.

I've seen on many honda/acura forums, however, that people just give someone their serial number (mines is PF 50144) and some guy responds in the forum with the code. How are they getting this code? Does someone have the ability to get this code for me? Or if not, do you know who can?

Take your serial number and call 865-218-5410 and ask for a service adviser. That's my local Honda dealer and they can give you the radio code over the phone no charge. Any Honda or Acura dealer can look it up on their service website

I know uve heard to go to the dealer..but that is the place to go. People loose their code all the time, so thats why they charge. Whats so bad about that? Seems like you want other people to do all the work for u. If u dont want to pay a dealership, then fill out some things online to join a forum so that u can get it at no cost. If not, just get an alpine deck and never ever have to worry about it again.

Buying an acura integra for a project car. Need help.?

ok so i'm looking into buying an acura integra for a project car. I don't quite know what year yet but any with the 4 headlights. That's my favorite body style. I don't know what trim either. I can't afford a type r so that's out of the question. i was thinking getting a gsr with alot of miles and getting it rebuilt so it's more efficient and getting new parts to replace the stock ones. (such as cams and pistons ect,) But i don't know how to go about getting it rebuilt or what i need to do to make sure i don't get ripped off. i'm new to this and have done some research but this is something i really want to do. I don't know the specific name brands i should get or what they are called. I was reading up on some forums and i've heard that the b18c5 is a good motor. but my goal is to have a turbo charged integra that is pushing 300hp at the wheels if possible. I would also like to know about suspension and handling if you can help me with that. cambering the wheels, clutch kits, all that good stuff. stage kits also. exhaust would be nice. (what kind should i get and how should it be done. what the price range is) i would also like to know the price for anything if you have it. thanks for your help.

Most seats are standard size. You need to measure from bolt hole to bolt hole front to back and side to side on both seat rails to see if R seats will attach in same bolt holes as civic.

1st off, dont listen to Gustavo. Hes talking about the RSX-S which is an integra dc5, but not an "acura"

ITR (Integra Type-R) came with 5 lug rims, bigger brakes and rotors. Also, it will only come in black, yellow or white. Will have shaved sides and a rear ITR spoiler. VIN will help aslo

Inside the car, it should have black cloth seats, similar to the civic Si, and it has red stitching, along with the shift boot. The cluster should have a redline at 8,200RPM.

The engine should have a red valve cover, DOHC VTEC, manual transmission 5 speed, LSD, it should be a B18C5 (USDM), not a B18B1 or B18C1. Again, B18C5.

Also, Type-R come with a "type-r lip", which looks more agressive than the oem lips. And has red acura elbems.

The Type-R has black with red stitching interior it has LSD transmission it a limited edition came in two door model with rare four door version ect
the GS-R is the top end for the integra's. Its not a limited editon. No LSD

A better air intake system on it will help it a little,,and keeping it tuned will help some,,that's about average mileage for it to get,,and that isn't bad considering most people would be thrilled to get that,,most of the cars today are over rated o millage any way,,if they say 30 you can count on 20-25 at the most,,id be satisfied with the 30+,that's pretty good,,i own a repair shop,,and that average for those cars,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

Now that it is almost 15 years old, it will really depend on how it has been maintained and driven. Fuel economy tends to go down over time though.

I dont think you want to get a nice integra since you're more like a beginner at driving. Start with a beater 5spd and learn how to drive manual really good then you can get a nice type r or whatever you want to get. Plus the benefit from driving an old car first would be that you can mess it up as much as you want and then by time you know how to drive a stick well enough you would have a nice clean teg with no problems at driving it and it'll be less cost in maintenance and repairs. But thats just my suggestion.

2000 Acura Integra LS with 90,000 miles - is it worth it?

I've just found the car of my dreams - a 2000 Acura Integra LS, two door hatch back in sapphire blue. It's perfect for me - except that it has over 90,000 miles on it. I've read a lot of great reviews on these, and I was just wondering if anyone knows if it's worth the $5,000?

Any honda/acura below 100k will drive like as if you bought it new yesterday. After 100k it's still reliable and great but it'll feel like you bought the car a week ago.

Mileage shouldn't just be the only factor for this car to be a deal. You needa know certain things, like the engine, title, driver, how many owners, etc. Do some research first

I have a '95 Acura Integra LS non v-tec, I need some advice on cheap mods I can begin to put into the engine. I have alrady put cold air into it.

Best cheap mods are: Making sure car is up on maintenace; i.e. Stock type NGK spark plugs and wires ($50), correct timing (slight advance may help a little on the high end)(autozone rents for free), clean fuel filter ($12). Of course timing belt and water pump, and all other non-power adding necessities.

On to the mods:

Since you already have an intake. (make sure it is a good, CLEAN filter)

Highflow catalytic converter (175 installed). Or gutted / race cat (free, but off road use only)

Next, high flow exhaust custom @ muffler shop 2.25 is plenty big for non-turbo cars. ($120-200), of bolt on cat-back ($350-600)

Then, header, small primaries and large collecter variety. These tend to extract the most power ($75-500).

This is a good start. You may consider other things like clutch (250-450) Gripforce.com has 'em for cheap and they are good!

Underdrive / lightened pullies and flywheels too.

They are a mechanically reliable, fuel efficient car. I used to own an 01 Mustang GT, and I actually like my 92 Integra better. They handle like they are on rails. The Integra became the RSX here in the United States (sounds like you are in a different country than I am). It's a good car for a first driver. Just take good care of it and it will last a while.

Does this have something to do with the vtec component, i.e once a certain rpm is hit, it does somethign different with the intake valves?

A single spring looses coil tension over the life of the engine. Two springs share the stresses and prolong the action of the springs' performance. And yes, they help to prevent "valve floating" at high RPMs.

Need help regarding purchasing a 2000 Acura Integra GSR with CarFax history problems?

In the middle of purchasing a 2000 Acura Integra GSR with low mileage. The only problem is that certain information on the CarFax is iffy. Its a 2 owner (personal lease and personal type), with roughly 90k mileage. There was an accident report that said that it was involved in a rear and front impact with minor damage. After the first owner the 2nd owner took over after 3 years and ever since, there has been a large amounts of engine, brakes and ABS system checks that shows up on CarFax. My question is, do these continuous "check ups" and accidents mean theres a red flag somewhere I should be worried about? Upon check up, the car looks perfect and there are absolutely no modifications done to the car. So, should these comments about numerous amounts of check ups keep me away from buying this car? Any comment and tips would help. THanks

This sounds exactly like I would expect a damaged vehicle with a problem to sound. Think about it, if your car is running perfectly do you run down willy nilly and say gee I think I will just have my car checked today just for fun? I don't think so. ON the other hand a car that has been in a wreck that had repeat problems with the abs light popping on, would do what? You guessed it in and out, in and out, ind and out trying to find someone , any one who can figure the problems out., and if he couldn't, look who comes along ? You? I don't think so pass on this car ace , never ever buy someone Else's problem car it is not worth it.

I want to swap engine, tranny, and interior parts from a 95 Acura auto to another Acura 5 speed body.

Well the interior will be no prob they r basically the same and the engine will be ok too the only issue would be the tranny because ur going from an auto to a manual. My recomendation is you take the money and swap a new motor into the 98 body rather than ur old motor its like 1200 for a regular b18 swap or you could buy a b18c for like 2 to 3 grand

I own a shop and there not much different than any other car is,parts are a little higher,but on some of the parts like the simple things there the same,and labor on those,isn't any more than on any other car either,there actually good cars to own ,they wont give you that many problems ,if you take care of them,but over all you wouldn't notice much difference in the cost of it,good luck ,hope this helps.

Where is the best place to buy auto parts?

By best place i mean like the cheapest. Weather it's online or not. i know ebay is pretty good. Anything else? If it helps, I need a front bumper for an Acura RSX 2002.

Ebay charges sellers a rather large sommission and listinbg fees, it would always be possible for an online vendor to sell for less.

Why do people buy american made cars?

With companies like Chrysler, GM, and Ford....with unreliable cars that may make it past 130k miles if lucky, horrible depreciation to ensure you will be upside down in car debt, and poor build quality along with poor parts.....Why do people buy these cars? It's just asking for trouble. I've had an Acura and never had problem one with it but when I was dumb and bought american made cars I was constantly in the shop, had one blow up on me and was always upside down in car debt.

First I have to disagree with you on the quality. Second are you one of those persons who complain that all the good manufacturing jobs are going overseas? And there are no good paying jobs left here? Maybe it is your driving habits and scheduled maintenance, as stated I have had no problem with American made cars and will continue to buy them. Upside down in car debt, not the manufacturers fault, but yours, don't finance for 100% and over and you will not have that problem. All cars lose value after driving them off the lot.

What's so appealing about a 4 door, 1990 Acura Integra? People are always asking to buy it.?

It's missing a hubcap, cracked windshield, leaks oil, 2 windows don't roll down and the other 2 barely roll up. The a/c doesn't work, the seats and steering wheel are shredded, the antenna is busted off. It's 20 year old parts are one by one having to be replaced, yet I have had more offers on it than any car I have ever had. I've had people ask me stop lights, parking lots and even knock on my door asking. What's the deal?
Also, I have never once seen a 4 door 1990 Integra. Although, I have seen many 1990 Accords with 4 doors, but no Integras. Could this be a factor?

Because they are amongst the best smalls car out there to start a project - a souped up little car. Great engines and chassis, lots of parts available. I'm guessing all of the inquiries you get are young men, right?

They'll probably pay you more than an ordinary person would, so if you're thinking about getting a new car, find one of them to buy it and get something nicer!

Honda (acura) people, i have a question?

can any one tell me what is under the cover on the left (front) valve cover 1990 3.2 v6. It has a rubber hose leading to the intake manifold. I was thinking it was part of the PCV system, but then i noticed that was on the other side. Is it EGR? Or maybe IAC? I found a picture of it online (the cover any way). The left valve cover is actually the right valve cover. Standing on the passenger side fender (facing engine) is the front of engine. Now the hose you see is the PVC line. My 1990 Acura Integra gets stuck in park, wont allow keys to come out?

I have a 1990 Acura Integra LS. Sometimes, especially in the cold, when I put the car in park, the automatic shift will lock up, not allowing me to take my keys out of the ignition. After a while, it will come out tho. I've heard this happen to other people. What is going on and how can I fit it? Will acura send me any new parts?

This is the shift interlock system, I've seen many times cup holders very close to the shifter where soft drinks, coffee and so on get spilled into the shift causing the shift interlock solenoid to stick especially in cold temperatures. Sometimes they can be cleaned sometimes they can't. And no Acura will not send you any parts unless you want to pay for them, even if there is somekind of a recall you would have to take it to dealer to be repaired .

Where in Atlanta (or inside I-285) can I get my Integra hooked up?

I am looking to get my 97 Acura Integra fixed up and by fixed up I mean paint job, wheels, interior, body kit, muffler, etc. However, it also needs engine work (or maybe a new engine altogether) and some other stuff besides cosmetic stuff. I'm looking for a place that can sell and install the aftermarket stuff but also work on the car itself. I wanted to go somewhere close as possible; if I didn't have to go outside of 285 that would be awesome.

1990 honda prelude parts fit into acura integra?

my sisters boyfriend has a honda prelude i was supposed to buy but... the tags expired, three years ago so i got an integra its a 1992 ls the thing is its all stock and the prelude is decently hooked up, it has intake, headers, a v20 engine (v-tech) and an exhaust system so is it possible that i can put the prelude parts into the integra parts them both being hondas?
