Questions About Acura Hatchback Cars

Betty asks…

why greenish fluid leaks from the back of the car?

I have 1992 acura integra car, hatchback. I was driving the car for more than an hour today (it's hot in here 92 degree) and I used the AC in the mid-level while I was driving. I came home and parked the car. After 2hrs I found greenish fluid coming from the back, right in between my tires, but not from the muffler. I saw a hole as well. It looks like it is dropping every other second.
anyone knows what this is?

admin answers:

Maybe you parked on a hill and the coolant in your car ran along the underside until it drips to the ground in the back.

Check your radiator fluid levels!!!

William asks…

What Acura car is this?

There's an Acura car that looks like a Toyota Yaris...and I'm trying to figure out what model it is, but I have NO idea. I'm not sure if it's recent, but I know that the model begins with an "R", and it's a small car, a small hatchback, once again that kinda looks like a Toyota Yaris...Anyone know the model? I've been looking for a picture, but I can't find one, so if anyone has one that'd be great!

admin answers:

The only Acuras that start with "R" are the RDX (small SUV), RL and the RSX.

James asks…

SHOULD I GOT WITH A 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT (HATCHBACK 2-DR) or1999 Acura CL 3.0CL (COUPE 2-DR)?

I am looking at these two cars for my next purchase. The Acura has 166,770 Miles and the Eclipse has 161,685. The eclipse is 3,200 dollars and the acura is 3,500. I just would like a nice car to drive and these seem great, even though the miles are high i like them. Which one would be a better fit? I am a bigger guy meaning fat, i am not rich at all so i will only have maybe some money if i get the price down for them. I am driving a ford escort right now that i like for the room and is a great car just i do not want for ever again.

admin answers:

The eclipse is really a low quality vehicle. For that amount of money, you could make a down payment on something newer and nicer then both of those vehicles. Have you considered looking at an auto auction? I craigslist most of my cars. The only things I spend good money are on are my Mustangs. Everything else I pay 1000 bucks for, maybe 1500 sometimes and just repair them myself as I go.

Jenny asks…

Sub and Amp in an Acura RSX (hatchback)?

I'm getting a system in my RSX soon but I need some advice on what to get. Is there anyone that owns a hatchback or has an RSX and has a system? If so, what brand, what size sub and amp did you get, and how much did it all cost? I heard that I'll need to get my alternator rebuilt so the amp wont drain my battery. But I was told this is different with every car so I'll just have to wait and see if it drains it or not. Has anyone actually had this problem with their alternator? I'm looking for SQ rather than SPL and I wasn't looking to spend more than 600 for everything, including installation.

admin answers:

I have an Eclipse, and I have 2 12" JBL Dual Voice Coil subs. (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_109P1224/JBL-P1224.html?tp=111 roughly)
I run it off an alpine MRP-1000 amp (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500MRP1000/Alpine-MRP-M1000.html?tp=115)

That will cost you about $500, not including installation (which I did myself, but then you also have to buy cables.) So I'm not sure how much installation would cost.

It moves a ton of air, and sounds great. I'm a professional audio engineer, so I'm always looking for sound quality. I also installed a new deck, new speakers, all powered off a separate amp. That really improves sound quality. So, all together I have a 1000 Watt Amp, and a 500 watt amp. I'm not sure exactly what I'm pulling off my battery, but I listen to it quite loud most times, where the subs are hitting really hard, and I've never had an alternator problem. I've had my lights dim a few times, but It always recovers.
