Lisa asks…
Is this a good time to buy a car despite financial crisis? Im thinking of either lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Acura?

It's a great time to buy a car, better than in recent years. The only reason not to buy is if your finances are tight, you need the money for other things, your job is at risk, or it puts you in a dangerous debt situation.

What's the best solution for my financial future?
Lately I've been contemplating whether or not to sell my '98 benz and drive my dad's Acura which has some miles on it, but it would be for free, because he's buying a new one. Well my car is halfway paid off, but I'm worried later that if I need to get it fixed it will cost ALOT of money. Right now I live at home, I'm 25, but I'd rather get my own place sooner than later. Another thing, I have to take out a loan to consolidate my debt from hospital bills, traveling, and other expenses. So would it be best to sell my benz, pay off my car loan, drive my dad's Acura, and just pay off the loan I have to take out? I'm just worried that when I want to get my own place, I'll also have to pay for a new car, ya know? Hopefully though by that time I'll be making good money, I'm working at an insurance company and I'll be taking the exam soon to get my license. So what's the best solution for the long run?
Plus I don't want to be 28 & living at home!

If I buy an Acura, does my money go to Japan?
I'm a loyal American and know that a lot of the financial problems in this country are due to sending money to other countries. If I buy an American made Acura, is my money going fully to Japan? I mean on average, what percentage stays in the US?
It may be a naive question, but I have no other way of finding out. Thanks!
admin answers:
It's a "luxury" Honda, which has its headquarters in Japan, so yes, your money goes to Japan.

Read your lease agreement (but I'm betting you can't..)
