What is the best "pocket rocket"?
Hey guys. I'm looking to buy my 3rd car now, and I am really into the idea of a "pocket rocket". In case you don't know, I mean a smaller car with a decent amount of HP. Examples would be Imprezas, GTIs, Mazdaspeeds, and things like that. Since I'm 19, I wanted to get one of these and not a muscle car that would be ridiculous on insurance. So far I'm considering:
Mazdaspeed 3
VW GTI
Impreza WRX
Saturn Ion Redline
Cobalt SS
Acura RSX Type S
Focus SVT
SRT4
Sentra Spec-V
Looking to keep it under or close to $15,000 (my downpayment is around $1000). Feel free to add any other choices. Oh, and I'd prefer if they were 2000 and up in model year. Thanks!

I wouldn't recomend anything American, so no Cobalt, Focus, Saturn... SRT4 maybe, but weak internals + factory turbo= nonreliable... A sentra, well, its a sentra... WRX maybe, but a lot of torque + AWD= going through clutches like crazy... GTI has ugly plaid interior lol... Mazdaspeed3 are insanely fast, not real reliable from what i hear though... And the RSX type-s has a s****y transmission! ... However, i regardless of the trans, i love my 02 type-s and couldn't be happier with it!!
You could also consider an Evo 8 or 9, but they tend to have the same problems as the WRX's.

How good is a 06 Nissan Sentra Spec V SER for a car to mod comared to the other Cars?
and wat could u do to the SpecV; as how much can u get out of the car or would the usually HONDA CIVIC 00-04 EX, be better or an acura rsx type S
how much power can u get out of a spec v and how good does it compare to the common honda civic modded, or acura rsx

If you modified a honda civic Si and a Nissan sentra spec v the Nissan would blow away the honda. When it comes performance mods it is easier to find mods for a Honda but Nissan spec v has parts that are easy to find. Nissans are a very strong company when it comes to performance. The reason why Honda has such a powerful name is mostly because many, many people add performance mods to Hondas. I would choose the spec v. They are fast stock so imagine if you add turbo and other mods in the car. You will smoke any Honda and you will be able to compete with the Acura RSX type s. Nissans are more superior than Hondas. Good luck

Changing car battery?
So I'm planning to change my car battery for my 2003 Acura RSX Type-S. I've changed a car battery before so doing it won't be an issue. However, i'm planning to maybe upgrade to a stronger battery..maybe an orbital..or possibly one of those special made ones for car audio ...to see if it'll bump some more power to my car audio (i have one subwoofer...nothing crazy)..just curious if by doing so I could possibly damage my car's electronics system..and/or should just stick with a factory spec car battery?
BTW anywhere I can check online to see exactly what battery type/rating my car needs? Thank You.

As long as the battery fits in the holder in the car you will have no problems on that end. A big plus to a larger battery will be more cranking power in cold weather. One thing you will need to look at is the output of your alternator - does it have the capacity to recharge the larger battery IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME.
A larger battery will not damage your cars electrical wiring.
As for your radio system, you will most likely need an amplifier (or larger amplifier) to drive the speakers. The amplifiers built into MOST car radios is not that powerful.
