ACURA RSX 2003 cam shaft issues?

i bought my 2003 acura rsx from a saturn dealer last year. just recently its been making this horrid ticking sound.

well my mechanic says the valves are messed up which has caused holes in the camshafts (which will cost me like $2500 to fix)


BUT i found on some acura forums this is a typical issue with the year and make of my car. my car is NOT under warranty, how do i get this covered?

and its not been a recall either.

Find another tech to adjust your valves. The camshafts have holes from the valves? Uhhhhh no. If it were so bad as to have worn your cams out, then the car would not RUN!

Get a second opinion, preferably from a qualified ASE Acura mechanic.

Your opinion on the best choice of wheels for my '02 Acura RSX?

Hi everyone. I have a '02 Acura RSX -- it's white, tinted windows, and for the most part, all stock. I am really not into 'tricking' out my vehicle, but I do plan on getting some nice 17" wheels [rims] for my RSX. With that said, I am asking for some opinions on the best wheels I should go with. My choices are: Gun Metal, Black, Gold/Bronze, or larger stock. I am not into chrome wheels, unless on large SUVs, so those are ruled out. Gunmetal is best with a white car. If you put black wheels on a white car, then you cannot see the wheels. Gold/Bronze is not that bad, but it would go better with a blue car like the Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

Where is E-brake wire, how do I get to it, & what color is it?? I drive an 02' Acura RSX (manual).?

I got in-dash DVD player & have already installed it, but I don't know where to connect the pink wire/(parking wire) to. All of the forums I've read talk about bypassing it, but that's NOT what I wanna do. I want to wire it the right way. Can anyone please help me?

If you wire it up the correct way, it means that the DVD screen will only work when the park brake - e brake - handbrake is engaged on the car. Waste of time, In my opinion.

To wire it 'correctly', you will need to either buy a factory manual and find out what colour the wire is that runs off the e brake and connect this wire to that wire.

If you remove the console around your e brake you should be able to see the wire, just put a crimp connector onto it and connect your wire to there.

To bypass it, it is simple. Attach the pink wire to ground. Its not doing anything naughty, and if you ever plan to run auxillary screens off the head unit (as I did, for people in the back seat, to keep them amused on trips) you want to be able to use them when you are driving.

It wont hurt the unit at all, as the e brake wire is just a switching earth which engages when the e brake is engaged.

Most car audio installers wire the e brake wire directly to earth.
