Questions About Acura History Cars

George asks…

Debate on cars sharing same platform or engines, ect?

so me and my friend had a debate on cars since we both like cars a lot, both of us has our reason to support it, but please determine who is a little bit more accurate and reasonable. thanks

the debate is on cars that share the same platform, engines, features. ect.

Person 1: a car that shares the same platform, chasis, engine, or features is not the same car as the other, but it certainly represents as a an upgraded or downgraded of the other car considering that they are from the same company.

Example: Since both Bentley, Lamborghini, and Audi was is owned by Volkswagen, many of them use same platform, chasis, or engine. such as the W12 engine commonly used by the Phaeton, A8, and the Continental lineup. Person 1 also stated that the interior of those 3 cars look extremely simlilar which means the car is not really a new car that is designed and assembled by its own brand. Another good example would be Rolls Royce, the Ghost and Phantom share many similar feature after its bought by BMW. Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura is nothing more than an upgraded Toyota, Nissan, and Honda with a diffrent logo and diffrent look. In other words, if person 1 wants to spend 200k on a car, person 1 will not consider a Bentley a car worth of buying due to many of its area identical to those in the same company, which could cost a lot cheaper like a Phaeton or A8.

Person 2: a car that shares the same platform, engine, features, etc is not an upgraded or downgraded car from those in the same company considering the unique history from its own brand and the reality of car design today.

Example: Even though Bentley, Audi and VW is sharing similar platform and engine, while Rolls Royce and BMW also having similar features installed on them, a brand is a brand, it could never be replaced or judged simply as an upgraded or downgraded version of the other. Person 2 stated that its common that many cars use the same kind of engine, chisis, or features, but each one of them is still has its own identity that they carry since the first day of production. Even though popular cars such as Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura was introduced by its pure blooded company, but its position located by the company certainly put them a place more than just upgraded or downgraded. In other words, its common that cars today share a same feature even a similar powertrain but the history of every brand is irrepleable.

I really want this one to look fair, so i used Person 1 and person 2 instead of me and him, so please share your voice, since both side is reasonable, so please say which one do you more agreed on? thx so much

Mark asks…

Is there any way to locate current info on a stolen car, never reported stolen, using the licence plate number?

In 2005 I lent my Acura car to a man under the condition he would recieve title to car once he payed the agreed amount. This car was never returned or seen again and never reported stolen. To make matters more complicated I never had changed the title to my name from the previous owner, although I registered the car under my name. I have the licence number and info on the car but don't have the vin. Can I use the licence plate to find any current history of my car?

You might have to go to the DMV and see if they have the Tag information still in active files. If not its archived and it may cost you a little more to get the information. Are you trying to find the man you gave the car to, and did he pay you any money. If so is it going to be worth the trouble. He could have sold the car in 2006 and who knows where it might be. The best way to locate the vehicle is by the VIN. If you are able to get that, a computerized search of the VIN may be made to locate it. There are services on the internet that do those type of searches, for a fee of course. Since 5 yrs have past should you not just write it off to experience and let it go.

Donna asks…

Is a Civic Sadan a good car to get for a new driver?

What cars do you recommend?

Im getting my G2 soon and my parents are buying me a car so i can choose anyone except the price range like the Acura car.. and i mean the New model not some old used car lol

and i did ask a question earlier about getting a Ford Focus but everyone said it wasn't reliable and based on the reviews Ford has in the past their new car doesn't sound too promising.. my mom was the one that suggested getting a Ford focus. but after browsing online on the Civic Sadan (honda owned) im really liking it plus alot of people said Honda is a great car company and it has great history of reliability.
whats wrong with a civic sadan its still owned by HONDA lol!
I can afford a better car then the honda civic though.. which is why i dont want to settle for that. I want a new model of the Honda car
@ Ahak the Civic sadan is the new version for Honda.. the ones you listed were old
This is what it looks like

im not getting a coupe cause i want to be able to fit more then one person in the car.. plus for long trips or get aways i like to be able to have room for suit cases and stuff.

Im only 18 tho but i still want a car with room
Brinna thats so cool your in the same situation as me, at least im not alone haha! and definitly keep in touch! ya i wanted to get a civic sadan now origonally i was leaning towarsd a ford focus but im still undecided! did you go test driving yet with the cars? i havent yet but will once i get my g2 haha

The Honda Civic's are fantastic cars! I have one currently and I love it!
I am in a similar situation as you! My parents are about to buy me a new car, and I can pick any one I want within our budget.
I was thinking Honda Civic too! My dream car is the Honda Civic Si coupe, but the "Si" models ONLY come in a manual, and I'm not so sure that I want a manual. They are kind of a thing of the past. And if you're buying a new, modern car, why regress and get a manual, right?
Anyways, good luck on the new car! If you want to talk more about cars, you can email me! I'd love to talk cars and maybe we can help each other find one!
